Zoco Market

Visitors to the coastal city of Torrevieja can enjoy a whole host of shopping opportunities, including a selection of street and indoor markets. Not far from the city, and near the towns of Quesada and Algorfa is the popular Zoco Market. The market is in a picturesque rural setting, among fragrant citrus groves and has a large car parking area, although this can quickly fill up during the peak summer months so it is advisable to arrive early.

The market boast a large number of stalls selling a variety of goods including fresh produce such as fruit & veg, a selection of meats, cured hams and sausages, home made breads, pastries and cheeses. There are pickles, jams, chutney, sun dried tomatoes and a good variety of delicious olives. Homeware items include bed linen, towels, dish cloths, cutlery, cleaning products, DIY goods, garden and terrace awnings and a selection of garden and indoor furniture as well as kitchen units. Kids will have fun browsing the toy stalls, and there is a wide variety of adult and children’s clothing, accessories, toiletries and fragrances.

When visiting Zoco Market you can enjoy refreshments and food in a number of cafés or even get a haircut or style from the ladies and gents hairdressers. The market is open every Sunday from 08.30 – 14.00. The best route from Torrevieja is to take the CV-905 dual carriageway out of the city and at the roundabout where the turn off for Quesada is, turn left and continue with the CV-905 to the large roundabout by the AP-7 motorway. Go straight across and at the next small roundabout go straight over and the sign for the market is just a couple of 100 metres further. There is usually queues of cars from the roundabout which is a good indication you have got your directions correct.
